Film Production Workshops

Our Film Production Workshops focus on developing practical skills in the area of film production such as cinematography, lighting, green screen and sound recording. By taking part in this workshop young people will gain a better understanding of careers in the creative industry and benefit from working with industry professionals.

The workshops aim to raise awareness of the wide range of jobs and career opportunities in the creative sector and to make sure that young people understand the requirements of creative career pathways (including employability skills) resulting in better-informed career planning. It will also help young people have a better understanding of the world of work by developing specific work-related skills and improve confidence, resilience, self-awareness and communication skills

The aims of the workshop are:

  • To raise awareness of the wide range of jobs and career opportunities in the creative sector.
  • To make sure that young people understand the requirements of creative career pathways (including employability skills) resulting in better-informed career planning.
  • To help young people have a better understanding of the world of work by developing specific work-related skills- cinematography, filming etc.
  • Aspects of the curriculum and classroom learning will be contextualised to the world of work.
  • Children and young people will have developed greater self-awareness and understanding of their own strengths and motivation in relation to developing a career within the creative sector.
  • To improve confidence, resilience, self-awareness and communication.

How will it work?

Duration: Two 2.5 hour sessions delivered over one day

Student numbers: 8 per session- 16 total in one day

The charge for this event is £1750 per day

Each day consists of two 2.5 hour workshops for 8 students. The sessions will focus on Camera and Sound and Lighting and Grip. At the end of the day, each group of 8 should have learned the skills required to create a short video whilst learning more about the creative industries and developing their employability skills. They will also have created a video about the school or their course which they will then be able to use as a promotional tool.
