School Work Experience – Phoenix Rising Media

Are you studying a further education course relating to media or film?

Do you want to experience what it’s like to work at a film production company and learn more about how your favourite films are made?

The application deadline for placements starting between 1st January 2024 and 30th June 2024 is 30th September 2023.

During your placement, you will learn about:

– Breaking down a script

– Budgeting and scheduling

– Cinematography techniques

– Post production workflows

– Career planning and progression

– Emotional resilience and mental health in the industry

– Entertainment law

– Using camera, lighting, sound, grip and broadcast equipment

– And more

We make the experience as practical as possible and try to tailor it to your learning goals whenever practical.

If you have your own script we can use that as a basis for your placement.

How To Apply

Please complete the form to register your interest in a work experience placement with us. We will contact your work experience coordinator or sixth-form supervisor to discuss your application. Please take time with your personal statement as we receive a high volume of applications and create a shortlist based on these statements.

We have two cut-offs per academic year:

For placements between January 2024 and June 2024 the deadline for application is 31st September 2024.

For placements between July 2024 and December 2024 the deadline for application is 31st March 2024.
